Astonishing expose published in GQ Magazine
I read a very fascinating article published in GQ this past week. In it, we hear the story of Frank Bourassa, who claims to have printed over $250 Million in counterfeit US $20 banknotes.
In the full article, you can learn:
- How the self-proclaimed "Greatest Counterfeiter in the World" developed his high-quality counterfeits
- What happened and how he got caught.
- How he got-off scot-free, with only 6 weeks in jail and a $1,500 fine.
- Did he make it clean with $50 million of his own?
The Counterfeiter's Tale:
Our perpetrator is shameless in his willingness to brag about how he obtained the materials he needed, circumvented many of the security features in the banknotes, and ultimately - really stuck it to the Secret Service when he convinced the Canadian authorities to drop the charges and refuse to extradite him to the U.S.
The below video is a condensed-version of the story. If you want all of the details, however, you should read the full article
It's an interesting story, even if it does really feel like a slap in the face - at least to this reader, who has spent the last 14 years fighting against these guys!
