Crooked Staples manager conspired to open fraudulent credit accounts

A Boston Staples sales manager pleaded guilty to fraud conspiracy charges in connection with processing fraudulent applications for store credit accounts using stolen identities.  The manager processed at least 60 fraudulent Staples’ store credit account applications (using stolen identity information) that were submitted by his co-conspirators, opening the accounts to purchase more than $81,000 in Staples gift cards.  For his crimes, the Staples manager is now facing a 20 year prison term, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000, all to receive $8,000 in kickbacks.
